Placing an Order

We are so glad you found something that you like! You can place an order through our site whether or not you chose to create an account. The benefit of creating an account is that you can easily keep track of your orders and place new ones. Once your order has been placed, your credit card will be charged, and our artists will start work on your order. On each item page, and in your cart, you will see something that says “ships in,” which indicates the amount of time it will take the individual artist to complete your piece. Expect your item to ship in the time-frame provided, and when it ships we will provide you with a tracking number. Because each item is made to order any cancellation or change requests must be received by email to caitlin@moxieandoliver.com within two hours of order placement. If we have already started on your order, and it may be sooner than two hours after placement, it cannot be cancelled or changed. Registrations for classes cannot be cancelled once made. If you cannot make your class time you can reschedule at no cost up to two (2) weeks prior to the class. Rescheduling fewer than 14 days to your scheduled class, cancelling, or not showing up to the class will result in full forfeiture of your class fee. In the rare event that a class is cancelled due to instructor illness or inclement weather, a make-up class will be scheduled or students may transfer their registration to another scheduled class with available space.  Class registration fees are non-refundable.

International Orders

We do accept international orders! We will ship anywhere in the world, but international orders do, at this time, require extra processing. You can add items to the cart and go through the check-out process. Once you’ve checked out, we will contact you with the order total including shipping. We will always do our best to find the most economical route to get your item to you (in terms both of shipping time and of shipping price), and will offer you several options. All international orders will be shipped directly from Moxie and Oliver, so your order will arrive in one package. Please be advised that some countries do charge duty/customs on international orders, and your local post office may hold your order until these are paid. Moxie and Oliver has no control over the customs/duty charged, and payment of the customs/duty is the responsibility of the recipient.

Gift Registry

For your convenience, and for the convenience of those buying you gifts, we have created a gift registry! Use it for weddings, housewarmings, bridal showers, or just to be sure that when you open up that box you get exactly what you want. You must have an account to create a registry, which you can then edit and share. Your family and friends can also access your registry by clicking “Gift Registry” and then searching for you by name. When items are purchased from the registry, it will automatically update so that you will not receive duplicate items. Sales Tax

All items shipped to Washington State will be charged sales tax, because Moxie and Oliver is located in Seattle, Washington, and the government says we have to.


All items are shipped directly from the artist. There is a note on each product description page to let you know how long you should expect it to take for the item to ship (each page says ships in and provides a timeframe). When you place your order, the artist(s) will begin working on your item, and when it is ready to ship we will send you a tracking number so that you know it is on its way. Most shipments will be sent by USPS. In some rare cases, shipments may be delayed beyond the stated turnaround time, and we will do our best to keep you informed in the event of any delays. We do not offer expedited shipping at this time.


Each item at Moxie and Oliver is lovingly, and often painstakingly, made by hand. Moxie and Oliver is a small shop and not a big box store, which is hopefully part of why you chose to make your purchase here, so please make your purchase carefully. Moxie and Oliver does not accept returns on purchases, but will exchange items within seven (7) days of purchase. The exceptions to this policy are listed below. If you receive an item that has been damaged during transport, please save all original packing materials (this is required by some shippers for insurance purposes) and contact Moxie and Oliver (caitlin@moxieandoliver.com).

All exchanges require a return merchandise authorization (RMA), so please be sure to contact Moxie and Oliver to initiate the exchange and acquire the RMA. Items returned without an RMA may not be accepted.

Moxie and Oliver will pay return shipping if you received an item that you did not order or if you received a damaged or defective item. In all other cases, you are responsible for the return shipping costs. In the event that you do need to return an item, please choose a carrier with tracking and/or insurance, as Moxie and Oliver is not responsible for items damaged or lost in return transit.

Once we receive your exchange in its original condition, you will receive a gift certificate good for a future purchase at moxieandoliver.com. The total amount of your credit will be the item price shipping costs will not be credited.

Moxie and Oliver cannot accept returns on body jewelry (including earrings) for reasons of hygiene. Additionally, all custom orders and any inscribed/personalized items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Items made by artists other than Moxie and Oliver and sold through the Moxie and Oliver site are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please note that there may be other items on our site that are non-returnable, and each has been marked in the item description as not eligible for return. Items not in their original condition will not be accepted for exchange.

Collaborative Works

You may have noticed that not all items on the site are Moxie and Oliver originals there are a few pieces from other talented artists as well! This is because after years of leather working, there is one think that I know, and that is leather is my strong suit, and I have no business mucking about in other materials. So I've found some artists that offer wonderful pieces to complement my leather work, and have offered them through the site for your ease of shopping. If you have a piece you think coordinates well with the Moxie and Oliver line, please feel free to contact me (caitlin@moxieandoliver.com).

Warranties and Product Warnings

Upon request, I will send you any warranties or other product information furnished to us by the manufacturers of any products or materials that are used in the process of creating my works. In some circumstances, the materials used in artwork may be harmful to humans or animals, particularly if used in ways other than those intended (i.e., ingested). If the product information includes warnings about use of this type, you assume all responsibility for such use. For example, we may offer for sale decorative bowls which are not safe for food. Moxie and Oliver makes no product warranties whatsoever in regard to the artwork nor do we provide product information beyond that provided by the artist.

We do not recommend that you allow babies or children to use any items not specifically designated for their use, and if you do so, it is at your own risk.
